May 26, 2022 – Meet the Committee & Written Exam

May 30, 2022 – Horsemanship

6:00 pm

Location: The Bull Pen – Thorlakson Feedyards East on Hwy 567 and North 2.4 km on Range Road 284

​

In the Horsemanship Competition contestants will be judged on their balance, hand positioning, feet, seat, and ability to control their horse. There will be mounting, dismounting, rail work, two reining patterns, a flag pattern and a presentation ride, which is called a wave lap.

June 18, 2022 - Airdrie Rodeo Royalty Fundraiser

This is a Thank-you Night that the Airdrie Rodeo Royalty are putting together for our volunteers, sponsors, family and friends. Silent Auction, live auction, 50/50, sit down meal, Sponsor Recognition, and a Fashion Show featuring The Store Upstairs with our current Royalty duo, as well as the 2022 Royalty contestants. This is our night to celebrate, socialize and give thanks to all the hard working committee members as well the kick off to our Rodeo that is 2 weeks later on the Canada Long Weekend!

June 20, 2022 - Public Speaking

Public speaking is a life skill we encourage our contestants and crowned Royalty to develop through practice and impromptu questions. The contestants will present a 3 to 4-minute long prepared, memorized speech as well as be given impromptu questions. They will be judged on their ability to present their prepared speech and their answers to the impromptu questions.
